Non-Divine - Asylum 45

Οι Non-Divine απέκτησαν φήμη με τις ζωντανές τους εμφανίσεις, ενώ ήταν και το συγκρότημα που κέρδισε το βραβείο Aardschok Metal Bash. Η πίεση που δεχόταν το συγκρότημα, λοιπόν, για μια πρώτη κυκλοφορία ήταν αφόρητη. Θα μπορούσε να τα καταφέρει στην πρώτη του δουλειά; Οι τέσσερις Ολλανδοί από το Άρνεμ φαίνεται ότι τα κατάφεραν τελικά.
Το "Asylum 45" είναι ένας concept δίσκος του οποίου τα τραγούδια μιλάνε για καθημερινές εικόνες και βιώματα τροφίμων σε ψυχιατρείο. Δεν πρόκειται όμως για μία συνεχόμενη ιστορία. Το κάθε τραγούδι αναφέρεται στην ιστορία διαφορετικών ανθρώπων.
Είναι δύσκολο να πει κανείς με ακρίβεια ποιο είναι το μουσικό στυλ των Non-Divine. Τους χαρακτηρίζει πάντως ένας δυνατός, groovάτος ήχος με όμορφες μελωδίες και πιασάρικα ρεφρέν. Μερικά γνωστά συγκροτήματα που μου ήρθαν στο μυαλό ακούγοντας το άλμπουμ είναι οι Anathema, King's X, Galactic Cowboys και οι τελευταίες δουλειές των Metallica και Amorphis. Φαίνεται πάντως να έχουν δουλέψει στο προσωπικό τους στυλ και ο ήχος τους είναι πολύ ώριμος για ντεμπούτο.
Καλύτερες στιγμές του δίσκου είναι τα "One Man, One Soul", "Sleep" και "Visions". Η φωνή του Igor van Beek είναι το δυνατό τους χαρτί και προσδίδει στα τραγούδια ατμόσφαιρα και δύναμη. Πολύ καλή και η παραγωγή του Jacob Hansen.
Σε γενικές γραμμές το "Asylum 45" είναι ένα πολύ καλό ντεμπούτο και οι Non-Divine θα είναι υπό στενή παρακολούθηση.
